The Colo(u)r Green

The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.
— John Ruskin, The Stones of Venice

This morning I woke up thinking about the color green. Maybe it's due to our recent suburban relocation after two years of New York City grey-ness that has me relishing the lush line of trees & leaves out the window. I've been reading the Fall Fashion edition of Lapham's Quarterly and was fascinated by this color chart in the front which I pulled out to see what tidbits they'd included about hues of green. Scheele's Green stuck out to me so I decided to do a little more reading about it. It was invented by Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1775
